I’m writing an essay and remembered a story about how George Washington would not accept shelter (such as a tent and warm bed) if his troops could not have the same. Is this true? Please help!

I’m uploading this in response to some people thinking our founding fathers were Deists. The truth is only 4 or 5 at best out of the 56 signers could be considered Deists and the rest were Christian. Even the Deists of those days were far more religious than most people would think they were today. [...]

On February 17, George Washington arrived in Alexandria to prepare for his birthday. Mayor Bill Euille greeted the president at Gadsby’s Tavern, an establishment well known to the General. On Monday, February 19, Alexandria celebrated with the largest George Washington’s Day Parade in the world.
